Itliong-Vera Cruz Middle School

Itliong-Vera Cruz Middle School

Senate and Assembly Resolution

Back in 2013, KAYA SF Bay Area chapter let folks know that Alvarado middle school in Union City would change its name to honor Larry Itliong and Philip Vera Cruz. And on December 18th 2015 the name was changed to Itliong-Vera Cruz Middle School. This is the first school in the nation to honor Filipino American leaders.  Meriam Reynosa attended the name change ceremony and our very own Assembly member Rob Bonta was there to give remarks and present a joint Senate & Assembly resolution.
